By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Explain the stages of racial identity development in mixed-race children.
2. Identify common challenges mixed-race children face (identity conflict, external bias, microaggressions) and strategies to address them.
3. Foster a home environment that honours and integrates multiple heritages (language, culture, traditions).
4. Communicate effectively about race, belonging, and culture with children in age-appropriate ways.
5. Advocate for the child in educational and community settings.
6. Build the child’s resilience and self-esteem around identity.
